Happy Birthday, my Dad, my friend, my coach, my teacher, my priest and my role model. As we look back at the years that have passed, we see evidences of God’s faithfulness. As we look ahead to the years to come, we are assured of the fulfillment of God’s promises.
Dad, you are amazing. Honestly, you are. After my relationship with God, family is the most important thing to me. You are a big reason why I’ve got my priorities set that way. Day in, day out.. Year in, year out.. You have modelled Christ to the best of your abilities. You have sacrificed, you have led, you have taught, you have gone the extra mile in every single area of life. For you, obedience to God comes before any other thing. I have had the privilege of seeing you follow up your convictions with actions whether it is convenient or not. Dad, I am learning.
God in his mercies gave you one of his finest gifts: Lizzy Akinsola. Mummy, you are amazing. As a family, we can’t overstate the role you have played in helping us on the path of fulfillment. You have been a pillar of support for each of us and others. By the help of God, you have served to keep us together, making sacrifices that can’t be quantified. Mama, I am sure that God has a special place in Heaven for rare jewels like you. You will not miss it.
One of the passages by which we live, as a family, is 2 Corinthians 4:7. “What do you have that you have not received? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” Dad and Mum, you remind us over and over again that we are stewards of God. You encourage us to be faithful in discharging our duties.
The wonderful thing is that God is just starting with you, with us and with The Equipping Christian Ministry (TECM). I can’t wait to see what He has in store. “There is still more land to be conquered.” We will make God proud… and we will ultimately reign with Him. I love you, Dad. I “farabale” love you. Happy Birthday Jerry Akinsola!
